NINE TREES

The Nine Trees House positions itself more as an idea than a product - a dynamic corridor that wraps in an infinite loop around a nine square courtyard with nine main trees. The consistency of the enclosure and strict maintenance of the grid develop a purity of living as moving and moving as living, where an occupied and curated nature is in constant negotiation with every space.

 

The ground floor is dedicated towards methods of gather with exception of a private guest suite tucked in the northwest corner, which would have limited occupation. These methods of gather greet you at the entrances and exits of the home creating a tension between the arrival and the rest. It is through the ring that you must travel in order to gain such rest, thus choreographing a scenography that interacts with the trees, the family, and the structure. 

 

The upper floor contains the various bedrooms and bathrooms of the family with a connecting node at the northeast corner for music. The bedrooms are elevated from the main floor to offer a sense of privacy and also provide a shaded outdoor living space below.
