My sketchbook is my form of notation and documentation of the world around me. Through pen and paper, I attempt to discover, or better yet, rediscover the built environment, the nature that surrounds it, and the people that experience it. Seen here are selected pen sketches from my leather-bound sketchbook, each drawn on-site from observation. These observational sketches range in time from five to thirty minutes, and ultimately work as a tool to train my eye and hand, as well as learn from my environment. Whenever I travel to new places, I bring my sketchbook with me to gain a new perspective on where I am, and better remember the moments while there.
