DIGITAL REPRESENTATION MODES
Media of Representation - Spring 2020
An object undergoes a series of iterative representational techniques through which many different technologies were used to produce drawings and models both physical and digital. The object began as rectangular prism and was carved away using straight orthogonal cuts as well as a large spherical intersection. These cuts produce geometry that is both interesting and difficult to represent. Through the use of Rhino 3D modelling and Grasshopper scripts, different representations of plausible abstractions of the object's construction were drawn. Additionally, VRay was used as a tool to render the object in concrete a smooth material, that captures the object's unique formal qualities.
